History of Sri Thiruvidanthai Aadhivaraha Perumal and Nithya Kalyana Perumal Temple

Sri Thiruvidanthai Aadhivaraha Perumal and Nithya Kalyana Perumal Temple are located in Thiruvidanthai village near Kovalam beach, Thiruvanmiyur near Chennai. This is the sixty-second Divya Desam of 108 Divyadesa Temples.


Uttaradati Nakshachatram in the month of Aipasi is the Thiru Nakshatra of Nithya Kalyana Perumal. In this temple, Perumal in Thiru Kalyana Kolam with Akhilavalli Thayar, Arulmigu Nithya Kalyana Perumal at Thiruvidandai on Mahabalipuram Road in a wonderful position where Perumal carries Akhilavalli Thayar on his left leg and graces the devotees.


Nithya Kalyana is the presiding deity of the temple, In this temple, Aadhi Varaga Perumal is the Moolavar deity and Akhilavalli Nachiyar is the Moolavar deity. Nithya Kalyana Perumal is with Sridevi and Bhudevi where we can see with them. The temple has a Kalyana vimana and a punnai tree as a Temple tree.


Thiruvidanthai - Name Reason :

Since Perumal is "Thiru" (Lakshmi) on his left, Thiru-Ida-Endai and known as Thiruvidanthai.


Drishti Pottu :

The procession deity Nithya Kalyana Perumal and Gomalavalli Thayar have Drishti pottu on their chins in nature. People who sincerely devote Nithya Kalyana Perumal to the Drishti of those who request are removed. This is the only place where Perumal give Seva to devotees with Thayar in Aadhi Varaha Avatharam. This Perumal is six and a half feet tall.


History of Thiruvidandhai :

Once upon a time, When the government understood that a son named Bali was born to the demon king Meghnathan, who lived once, Mali, Malyawan and Sumali The three went and fought the devas and surrendered to King Bali. King Bali fought with the devas and won the war for them. On the banks of Varaga theertha, Bali performed penance and his penance was performed as a deity by the Aadhi Varaha Perumal.


The Purana says. At the request of Sage Kalava Rishi, who lived in this place with his 360 daughters, Perumal came as a brahmachari every day married a girl, Perumal married everyone in 360 days and on the last day Perumal made everyone as one girl and kept her on his left side and According to the Varaha Purana, Perumal taught the Sharama sloka through Agilavalli Nachiyar to the people of the world.


Nachiyar who is on the left side of Srivaramurthy is Akila Valli Nachiyar was married as Nachiyar and every day, and Perumal was given the name Nithya Kalyana Perumal. The Thayar who graces devotees with a separate temple is called Gomalavalli Nachiayar.

Varaga Theertham - Kalyana Theertham :

If you take bath in the month of Masi in Varaga Theertham and serve Perumal, you will get moksha and in the month of Chithirai in Kalyana Theertha, you will get moksha. The destruction of sins by serving Perumal is also a gift to the demon King Bali by Aadhin Varaha Perumal.
